About the Blend Kach’och Ixoqi’ Kape was developed in consultation with Women’s Center Director, Francisca Ajcibinac. It combines washed and honey-process arabica beans produced by the Café Juan Ana coffee growers association based in San Lucas Tolimán. The carefully composed mix provide a bright, balanced coffee, with cacao and citrus notes. Café Juan Ana pays farmers a premium (typically twice the conventional supply chain farmgate price) for their best shade grown arabica coffee. As a result, your purchase benefits not only the Women’s Center, but also coffee farming families in the community.
About The Women’s Center Based in San Lucas Tolimán, the Women’s Center provides a safe and inviting place for indigenous Kaqchikel Maya women to share their experiences and support for one another. The Center offers courses in cooking, weaving, sewing, small business operation, and other areas. These courses support women in running their households or in realizing their entrepreneurial aspirations. The donation from the sale of one bag of Kach’och Ixoqi’ Kape represents approximately one week of workshop learning for one woman.
