About the Blend In San Lucas, the word vivero (‘nursery’) is associated with the development of seedlings into excellent arabica coffee plants. The Vivero blend was developed in consultation with Patricia Quiacain, Director of Education. Ms. Quiacain values the complexity of flavors that are expressed in light roasts of Atitlán region coffees and she selected a balanced mix of washed and honey-process arabica beans. The result is a strong bright coffee with clear citrus and floral notes. The supplier of the beans, Café Juan Ana, pays San Lucas farmers a premium for their best shade grown arabica coffee. As a result, your purchase benefits not only the school, but also the coffee-farming families of many of its students.
About the school supported by Vivero Located in San Lucas Tolimán within sight of beautiful Lake Atitlán, the Monseñor Gregorio Schaffer School provides high-quality elementary education at an affordable price. The donation from the sale of one bag of Vivero Coffee represents approximately one third of monthly tuition to the Schaffer School. If you like Vivero, consider buying three bags a month.
